A mosaic starts with many pieces of diverse shapes, size, color, texture, depth. The pieces may look random and disorganized – and even ugly when spread out. However, the potential is there to put them together into a beautiful design. We only need to pick up the pieces – engage with them – and try various patterns to develop a beautiful mosaic.

Thus, diversity is an apt description of the body of Christ. We can be viewed as the pieces of a mosaic – the many people of God’s Church – male & female, young & old, experienced and yet-to-experience who come from a variety of backgrounds and world-views – yet all held together by the beauty of God’s grace and our passion to bring others into relationship with Him.

North America Mission

Leaders Conference 2010

and Annual Conferences of

sponsoring organizations

This year the North America Mission Leaders Conference will focus on pertinent issues related to diversity in missions, especially as it relates to the North American mission scene. The topic of diversity as it pertains to mission is both exciting and full of many possibilities for improving our mission posture. At the core are these questions: “How are we embracing our God-created differences for the benefit of his kingdom?” And, from the other side, “How may we be exploiting our differences for the protection of our ‘kingdoms’?” By means of plenary sessions, workshops, and panel discussions we look forward to paving new ground about this multi-faceted issue.

At the broadest level, categories related to diversity in mission will include:

       Gender diversity

       Ethnic diversity

       Generational diversity

Each category provides fertile ground for lively discussion as we wrestle with some of the most pressing issues in the contemporary world of missions. A wealth of possibilities for advancement in these three areas with immediate practical application to agencies, churches, and training institutions will be the outcomes sought through these discussions.

You’ll want to be there for this thought-provoking and potentially direction-changing conference that could impact your future involvement in world mission as you discover new ways of

Engaging the Beauty of Kingdom Diversity.
