For more than 90 years, CrossGlobal Link, formerly known as Interdenominational Foreign Mission Association of North America, has brought together like-minded mission agencies serving evangelical Christians who believe Jesus Christ is Savior and Lord, and who are committed to obeying His command to take the gospel to all the world. These Christians and the churches they represent trust CrossGlobal Link member missions for their integrity - integrity not only in finances, but also in message, in relationships, and in moral standards. These standards are critical for the over 15,500 missionaries from 90 agencies who serve Christ in a world convulsed by war, ethnic division, poverty, urban decay, AIDS, and the resurgence of opposing militant religions. In this reality, servants and supporters must be assured that resources are deployed under the strictest standards of integrity. CrossGlobal Link partners its member missions by providing:

• Mission personnel staffs with the know-how for missionary recruitment, selection, and professional development,
• Mission business and financial people with refresher seminars in management, taxes, and accounting,
• Mission executives and management staff with conferences and small group seminars which enhance leadership and management skills,
• A forum by which mission leadership can stay abreast of world issues and current theological and missiological trends.

Integrity in Message

 

Integrity means fidelity in our message. All of the money and all of the passion devoted to worthy causes goes for naught if the message of the gospel is not preached in purity and power. That's why the foundation of CrossGlobal Link member missions is first of all theological and doctrinal. Each mission annually reaffirms its commitment to the CrossGlobal Link doctrinal statement. The CrossGlobal Link agency is fully committed to preach nothing "except Jesus Christ and him crucified" ( I Cor. 2:2). The reason is both clear and compelling: millions of people around the world are lost in their sins, without hope, facing eternity without Christ as Lord and Savior. The central message is "Christ died for our sins according to the Scripture." (I Cor. 15:3).

Jesus Christ called his followers to confront the unbelieving world with the gospel. CrossGlobal Link member missions help believers all over North America exercise obedience to his command. These Christians know that their support and prayer will engage them in the world-wide conflict for souls. They know that the mission agencies they support are faithful to Scripture, to the gospel, and to Jesus Christ.

Integrity in Finances

 

Christians have a right to know that their hard-earned, prayed-over gifts are wisely invested. Administrative costs, salaries, and overhead are carefully monitored for consistency with the mission agency's stated goals and purposes.
Therefore, CrossGlobal Link has always insisted on the strictest integrity in all financial dealings. This includes ethical fund-raising, proper accounting, reliable receipting and reporting, and responsible audits, available to all donors.

Each agency applies the necessary management control to assure financial integrity. Each year the member missions file a report with CrossGlobal Link, indicating that they are in compliance with the association's strict standards. They issue an annual financial report prepared in conformity with generally accepted accounting principles. Their report is audited by a chartered accountant (Canada) or a certified public accountant (U.S.), in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards.

Integrity in Relationships

 

Because of the wide scope and variety of churches and charitable organizations seeking funds today, mission agencies must spell out clearly how they relate to one another. People need to know that biblical standards of fellowship and cooperation are being followed.
The CrossGlobal Link symbol gives assurance in these critical matters. CrossGlobal Link is not a church nor a denomination, but an association of evangelical mission agencies. These mission agencies, or boards, send missionaries from the broad spectrum of evangelical churches. The ministries of the agencies are strengthened as they work with other CrossGlobal Link members for mutual support and counsel in many strategic matters affecting the work.

Three key words identify the CrossGlobal Link stand on relationships: partnership with those who share basic doctrinal and ministry convictions; fellowship within the larger body of Christ, and communication with other organizations for information and education.

Integrity in Morals

 

Scripture calls all Christians to accountability in conduct. Each CrossGlobal Link member mission affirms and practices biblical standards of holiness. The integrity of the gospel witness is at stake as the missionary lives before the watching world.

The CrossGlobal Link symbol assures Christians that missionaries sent out by a member mission will be expected to maintain holiness in their marital relations, in their use of time and money, in their relations with people in the countries where they serve, and in their personal habits. Each CrossGlobal Link member mission is expected to hold not only its missionaries, but its officers and board to these high standards, as well. Christlikeness is the model for every level of every CrossGlobal Link member mission.

"How Can They Hear?"

 

God's plan for world evangelization rests on the simple premise of his sending ambassadors so that a lost world can hear his message of hope and salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. That's the calling of CrossGlobal Link agencies- to facilitate sending so that people can hear. Is this calling valid today? Yes, because God has not revoked his plan. Yes, because millions of people have yet to hear the good news.

 

Therefore, the church faces an enormous unfinished task. CrossGlobal Link agencies serve the churches as senders of their finest people, those whom God has called to both remote areas and to exploding urban jungles.

Their assignment has never been more difficult. Today's missionaries go with better training, better equipment, and stronger support than they did a century ago. But they also face determined opposition in resurgent religions, political and social upheaval, grinding poverty and oppression, and religious indifference.
