Connecting Globally

Missions is a central and permanent fixture of the Church. Robust mission outreach pulsates all over the globe, and there is no reason to expect this to change. History has shown that when one regional mission base begins to wane in vitality and momentum, another increases. God’s missional program is not confined to the predilections of a particular region, people, country, or culture. Like the wind, his missional Spirit blows on to another area where he finds passionate hearts.

During the previous century, He moved the epicenter of missions from Europe, across the Atlantic, to North America. Now, He is moving it onward again. The base of missions is shifting more and more to the non-Western world. The Church of the global South has picked up the baton and is running stride for stride with the West in mission passion and activity.

This is why CrossGlobal Link believes it is important to collaborate in efforts and engage in discussions on the global level. Global issues demand global discussions that take place at global forums. Having been blessed with many missional resources, the missions represented in our association have much to contribute to the greater global arena. We also have much to gain and learn in return. That is why we make it a point to stay connected globally; why we engage in global mission conversations. That is also why “Global” is part of our name!

This year our Annual Conference will focus on how North Americans can better interface with Majority World Missions (see ad, pg.7). For missions from a Latin America perspective read the article on page 6 by Manny Gutierrez.
